If you’re just traveling through, or plan to stay a few days in the area, The Vintage Inn in Bowling Green, MO, can provide you with exceptionally clean guest rooms and remarkable customer service. We are located just 11 miles from the famous Mississippi River, 30 miles south of Mark Twain’s hometown of Hannibal, and 70 miles north of St. Louis.
This is a family-owned and operated motel in the quiet, county seat of Pike County. The town is located at the crossroads of Highway 54 and Highway 61, also known as “The Avenue of the Saints”, which runs between St. Louis, MO and St. Paul, MN.
The community boasts of a 1917 County Courthouse, which sits in the middle of the town square. Off the square is the lovely home of Champ Clark, who was Speaker of the House and ran for President in 1912, but was defeated by Woodrow Wilson. This home is a National Historic Landmark, built in 1898, and is open for tours.
Next door to The Vintage Inn are four lovely shops that feature primitives, antiques, quilts, candles, home furnishings, gifts, and famous Bankhead’s Chocolates, just to mention a few.
Also, outside of town are several Amish farms and stores which sell a variety of goods and baked items.
We still believe in the personal touch and would like to make your reservation by speaking to you directly.
